It's official: Face-to-face classes will not return in 2020
27 August 2020
This afternoon, during the press conference regarding actions, information and updates on COVID-19 at nation wide, the Minister of Education, Ms. Giselle Cruz, officially announced the no return to face to face classes for this year 2020.
"We want to inform the public about the non-return to face-to-face lessons, let us remember that we had put as a horizon date the month of September and for this we have decided in conjunction with Dr. Salas (Minister of Health) and with the guidance of the President of the Republic, Carlos Alvarado, not to return physically to schools due to the conditions that we have at this time with the Pandemic", Cruz announced at a press conference.
At GSD International School Costa Rica we will continue with our Virtual Learning model, which has brought excellent results. “We will continue with the Virtual Learning process and both, our teachers and all GSD staff will ensure that our students receive a high quality education. Again, we thank the families for their support and collaboration in this modality of learning," said Raúl González, Associate Head of GSD International School Costa Rica.
This position is in line with what Minister Cruz said at the same press conference. "This decision does not mean that we are finalizing the school year, we will continue to move forward and strengthen virtual education," said Ms. Cruz.
